Maybe am Dead Wrong, What do U think?

They are everywhere, in fact they are all the same. They have been coming since the times of our grandfathers, you must have seen them and possibly you even stared. They are all here with a mission, possibly they were even sent, guess what am talking about? I am talking about Scott, the blond haired Mzungu with a moustache that looks like it has been eaten? Isn’t Scott the Mzungu who walks around with the big back pack, a pair of khaki shorts, some hairy legs a pair of stained white socks and some brown boots? All of them are called Scott, aren’t they? They are all from America, aren’t they? They are all the same, aren’t they?

am talking about Scott, the blond haired Mzungu with a moustache that looks like it has been eaten? Isn’t Scott the Mzungu who walks around with the big back pack, a pair of khaki shorts, some hairy legs a pair of stained white socks and some brown boots?....People like Scott Imagine Africa to be lion king, They think that our kids say Hallo to Simba as they go to school, They think we all go around singing Hakuna matata

They all come here to sample Africa; they are all looking for some Samburu kid to help go to America, aren’t they? They all cook out in the bush and take out their little cameras and photograph slum Children like they are wildlife. You know how they are; they come to Africa to taste the great wilderness. Do you ever wonder what they carry in their bags? Most of the time their backpacks contain tissue paper and that’s a fact. They carry tissue paper from America because they think that we Africans are some primitive tribesmen who live in round huts covered with grass thatch, they think we use leaves like apes. People like Scott Imagine Africa to be lion king, They think that our kids say Hallo to Simba as they go to school, They think we all go around singing Hakuna matata, They think we all go to a Sangoma who casts our demons out and at night we sit round a fire and boil the hunt.

It all sounds like the usual hyperbole you expect from me, doesn’t it? You will be shocked by how badly we are portrayed out there. They think Africa is just full of tribesmen killing each other with spears, they think we all dread the headhunter’s tribe. Ask any African in the west about the weird stuff they hear about Africa, and you will be surprised. Ever wondered why all movies about Africa have people talking in weird accents, I mean, the last King of Scotland, Blood diamonds… Who talks like that in Africa.

I guess Scott doesn’t like us anymore. We are too sophisticated for his taste, Children No longer shout Hallo at him, He can no longer impress us with his mobile Phone from America, He no longer attracts kids with his projector and old movie reals, because we have TV’s. You see the Thing about these Scotts is simple, They come to Africa to feel special, They came to get noticed because back home where people have long pointed noses they are insignificant, But maybe am dead wrong, what do You think?
