The Bull horned Fisherman- Raila Odinga.

This is a tribute, my perspective on Kenya’s most remarkable politician. He is the most polarizing and most noticeable politician in Kenya’s history. He is easily the most controversial, the most competitive, the most acclaimed as well as possibly the most disdained. Raila Odinga is a colossus and a damn mighty one for that matter. Odinga  is  not a player  he is the game, he has been the centerpiece of Kenyan politics for the last 15 years. His track record is unrivalled, his credibility is unquestioned, he is as loved as he is feared, and feared he is, In 2007 an Uncle warned me that in his presidency we Central Kenyan men shall not wear trousers.

Raila remains the kind to take the Bull from the front, If Raila were a fisherman he wouldn’t use a net, in fact he wouldn’t use a boat either, he would walk in to the lake and catch the fish with his bare hands, Of course the wisdom of such is questionable, but that is the “toughness of Raila  Odinga”, the man with one mind.

Raila Odinga  is definitely a Macho man, He is the kind of man with steel guts, He has no rear gear, he doesn’t dare he does it. He is a very driven man, someone like  Moh Amin, the Kind who doesn’t knock  he walks  through. This has won him critical acclaim and an equally charismatic opposition. His bullishness has made him alumni of the Kenyan Prison system, he is arguably Kenya’s most famous political dissident. He challenged the Moi Government without restraint and he paid dearly. Nevertheless Raila remains the kind to take the Bull from the front, If Raila were a fisherman he wouldn’t use a net, in fact he wouldn’t use a boat either, he would walk in to the lake and catch the fish with his bare hands, Of course the wisdom of such is questionable, but that is the “toughness of Raila  Odinga”, the man with one mind.

Unfortunately, not many are so extravagant in their acclaim of Raila Odinga, not that I am extravagant in my regards of him. Yes, he is charismatic, he pulls crowds and charms them with his humour. He is a man of many people but not for everyone. I admire Raila Odinga, but in my estimates he is a high risk Leader, Raila  is  a bit of loose canon, he hits the nail on the head but he fractures the skull and leaves you dead. I wish he was a bit more tamed, a bit less combative and a bit more quite.

I am worried  if Raila  took  power his critics  would  go off  the deep end and  I am worried  he would  take the battle to them instead  shepherding them and This would mean trouble. That isn’t my biggest worry, my biggest worry is that Raila is a soft man who acts tough, he could turn out to be a nanny when we want a master, that is the saddest thing of all, we all think we know Raila, yet when we explore deep enough, we don’t.

Hate him or like him, but he has fought hard for the changes and some freedoms we now enjoy, during Moi era you couldn't write such !
